So Todays Blog is a review of my personal visit to Moody Gardens Galveston Island. It was neat. I was lucky enough to go right after the opening of the newly remodled rainforest.

It was great, but don't be like me and wear heels. The new rainforest has an actual rain storm inside. I mean it will RAIN. You get wet, the ground gets slick, and god help your electronics. It will be humid while you were in there so I would recommend that you wear light clothing and not anything super heavy. You will sweat!!!

The animals were cool. The butterflies were in their own net enclosure so that you could actually see them. The monkeys hang out right on the side of the walkways, the Bats haave a net enclosure for them to fly but not to where they can reach you. The vmapire bats are still behind glass so no worry there.

The down fall was that almost all the wild animals that were there were asleep. I dont mind that they were asleep, but I mean dont have their sleeping spots behind plants that were as tall as I am. I'm 5'7 and so that was not cool.

I liked that there were different areas to represent each continent like asia, africa, and south america. This also had all the plants from that region. I got to see one of the giant flowers from Asian. All different kinda of orcids also. At one spot the different types of orcids were lined up over a river in the building.

We went and saw the IMAX 3D was cool we saw Wild Oceans. It was talking about the over fishing of the oceans around the world. It was neat but if you dont like educational films you wont like it,

The last thing we did was ride the Cornel Paddlewheel Boat. It was fun. It was an old school Paddleboat with the old west feel. The boat was a smooth ride which was great for the end of the day. Watching the sun set with the water and a great person and a drink.

It was more than a great time and I hope to do it again soon.
